Series of Seven: The Feeling of Water

The ocean is vast and majestic, with water running deep, and cold. It portrays fear, yet embodies beauty. The crashing waves shows power, and the still water shows anticipation. It is a mixture of lightness and darkness, of balance and chaos, of serenity and turbulence. These juxtapositions are what I wanted to show within the “Feeling of Water” series. Each painting in the series of seven (for ancient phrase “the seven seas”) was created with a specific song in mind. The series follows the shape of a pyramid, reading from left to right. At the top of the pyramid is a realistic painting of the ocean, which is followed are four paintings that dip into abstraction and impressionism, which is followed by an expressionist piece and finally the abstract piece.
